The Miracle of Spring
There is something special about springtime. It reminds me that after every failure is a fresh start, after every moment of sorrow a moment of healing, after the old always the new. After the long duration of cold a warmth and rejuvenation. With each vivacious color is the reminder that life is a gift, a miracle.

In the Beginning
It was from these books that I was inspired to do more than just take a picture here and there. They were the guides to rekindle the creativity locked inside. To all photographers whether novice or professional: Remember your beginnings and how far you have come.

The Way Before Me
Every once in a while I love to take and edit one of my pictures to use a background for a graphic design project. A few of my favorite subjects are roads and fences. Roads are the means by which we take journeys or relocate from one place to the other. I am reminded that in whatever journey I take, physical or spiritual, I need guidance. Once the journey has begun I need to continue to follow the Guide. I don't need to fear the end of the journey nor do I have to know my final destination. I can follow knowing I am literally in good hands. Isaiah 41:13

Never Alone
I find this scene very unique. If I could zoom out these two trees would look even more solitary. There they sit all alone on the top of that sprawling hill. Two soldiers "sticking out" against the stark contrast of the horizon. They remind me that there are moments when we feel as if we are standing alone and vulnerable. Yet in those moments we remember amist the trials and criticism, there is always Someone there by our side. We are "Alone, Yet Not Alone".

Unusual Friendship
It amazes me how well the creatures that share the same ecosystem can coexist. Each one has their own purpose for the survival of its habitat. No matter the size or shape, each one is just as important as the other. In our world everyone has a purpose and a place of importance. Each one does what the other cannot. It is because of our difference that we thrive.

"He Careth"
As the cold settles in for a long winter, these little guys hop about from feeder to feeder, showing off their vibrant colors and hilarious antics. Each morning as I sit down with my coffee and devotional materials, I am reminded that we are only sharing a few dollars a week to feed a few of these beautiful creatures. What about the rest? Well, they aren't frantically fluttering about wondering where their next meal is. Their Creator has it all worked out from the juicy worm popping out his little head to say good morning to the seeds dropped from high in the treetops. The thought that brings a greater sense of comfort to my heart is that God's Word promises that I am "more important than one of these", because "He careth",

New Year Perspectives
Every object changes in its characteristic as you look at it from a different viewpoint. An ordinary line of trees in the back yard can appear to be a scene from a fairy tale. By viewing the tree from the trunk up, one could almost imagine they were a squirrel. Perspective photography reminds me of how we view life, especially as each new year begins. The lessons from the challenges and problems of the past year can be evaluated and their purpose understood. Every new year is a fresh start -a new viewpoint of your life.
